Triangle Biotech Tuesday (TBT) is a nonprofit organization that brings together the Research Triangle's life sciences community through monthly networking events. We welcome professionals from biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, academia, government, healthcare, and related industries to connect in a relaxed, inclusive environment.
Our events provide opportunities to build relationships, exchange ideas, discover new perspectives, and strengthen connections across the region's growing life sciences ecosystem. Our Story
Triangle Biotech Tuesday began with a simple observation.
In February 2012, founder John Mayfield attended the original Biotech Tuesday event in Boston and was inspired by the connections and collaborative atmosphere it created. After returning to Durham, he searched for a similar networking event in the Research Triangle but found none.
Rather than accept the gap, he created one himself.
The first Triangle Biotech Tuesday event was held in May 2012. What started as a small gathering has grown into one of the Triangle's longest-running life sciences networking organizations, bringing together thousands of professionals over the years while remaining true to its original vision of strengthening connections across the local life sciences community.
